OE Trigger Removal Tip
Ask any professional Firearms Instructor about shooting well, and his/her first few sentences will have ‘trigger control’ in them. A quality trigger press, without shifting the weapon, will virtually guarantee you a hit on your target. If your sights were aligned, it’s a fundamental given.
Few controls on your pistol have the overall impact on successful shooting, as your trigger.
Let’s start with the Flat Faced trigger shape. It’s popular among combat & competition shooters, and for good reason. With the large front surface and a low trigger safety, the shooter can gain maximum mechanical advantage. This gives the perceived feel of a lighter trigger press. Another benefit allows trigger movement straight back, without unconsciously ‘pushing’ the weapon to one side or another, as with some OE triggers.
Since there is no vertical ‘ridge’ in the middle of the trigger face to irritate your finger, shooting on the range all day becomes a lot more comfortable.
Function wise, the mechanical take-up was kept that most Glock® shooters have come to know and appreciate when they carry concealed. However, the over travel was shortened just a tick to get you back into reset quicker, for a faster follow-up shot if needed.
The entire trigger assembly was then molded in the exact same polymers used by Glock®, for the ultimate in reliability, durability and compatibility. All pivot pins are 17-4 Stainless Steel, and splined for maximum retention when assembled. No CNC machines were used for any of the assembly in aluminum with the customary hard-coat anodize finish so the VTCT won’t ever get hot after a long training session. The trigger is an insulator, not a heat conductor. It won’t abrade or create wear that damages the frame, possibly disabling the trigger safety. Since all of the geometry is molded in place, there are no set screws or adjustments to fail, leaving you with a dead weapon or one that ‘doubles’. The VTCT is easily installed in minutes by a Certified Glock® Armorer.
So, to recap, there are very few modifications you can perform to your pistol that will reward the effort as the VTCT Carry Trigger. Try one, see your accuracy improve and you won’t go back. Know that it is as rugged as your Glock®, and will always have your back.
